Sensex up 567pts; Bajaj Auto zooms 7%

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 327 points at 17,921. The index is now up 567 points at 18,161.

The NSE Nifty has gained 147 points at 5,350.

Bajaj Auto has zoomed 7% to Rs 2,370. HDFC and Grasim has soared nearly 6% each to Rs 2,681 and Rs 3,200, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever and Reliance Energy have surged 5% each to Rs 200 and Rs 2,090, respectively.

ICICI Bank has rallied 4.7% to Rs 1,205. Hindalco has gained 4.4% at Rs 168.

Ranbaxy, ITC and ACC have advanced over 4% each to Rs 365, Rs 200 and Rs 780, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has gained 3.5% at Rs 655. BHEL, ONGC, Satyam and Infosys are up around 3% each at Rs 2,215, Rs 1,022, Rs 405 and Rs 1,465, respectively.
