Sensex up 56pts in early trades

The Sensex has opened 70 points higher at 15,539 owing to positive cues fron the global markets. The index touched a high of 15,598 and is now at 15,524, up 56 points.

The NSE Nifty is at 4,626, up 17 points.

Reliance has advanced around 4% to Rs 286 and Sterlite has added 2.5% to Rs 651.

DLF, Tata Motors, Jaiprakash Associates and Tata Steel have increased 2% each to Rs 420, Rs 528 and Rs 220 and Rs 424, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, Hindalco and  Maruti are up around 1.5% each.

Infosys, Wipro, HDFC Bank and HDFC are the marginal losers so far on the BSE.
