Sensex up 57pts; Tata Steel surges 5%

The Sensex is now up 57 points at 12,844.

Tata Steel has soared 4.5% to Rs 458. Reliance Energy has surged over 2% to Rs 498.

ACC, Tata Motors and Grasim have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 724, Rs 692 and Rs 2,092, respectively.

HDFC, Hindalco and HLL have moved up 1.3% each to Rs 1,517, Rs 132 and Rs 200, respectively.

Maruti and Cipla are up 1% each at Rs 753 and Rs 232, respectively.

Hero Honda and Dr.Reddy's are down 1% each at Rs 638 and Rs 739, respectively.

Out of 2,252 stocks traded so far, 1,393 have advanced, 775 have declined and 84 are unchanged.
