Sensex up 585pts; Wipro zooms 8%

The Sensex is now up 585 points at 19,747.

Wipro has zoomed over 8% to Rs 532. Infosys has soared 5.4% to Rs 1,790. TCS and Satyam have surged over 4.5% each to Rs 1,095 and Rs 447, respectively.

HDFC has rallied nearly 6% to Rs 2,885. Tata Steel has gained 4.8% at Rs 865.

BHEL has moved up 4.5% to Rs 2,475. ICICI Bank, ONGC and Reliance Energy have flared up over 4% each to Rs 1,207, Rs 1,241 and Rs 2,021, respectively.

Bharti Airtel and Mahindra & Mahindra have advanced over 3.5% each to Rs 948 and Rs 813, respectively. HDFC has added nearly 3% to Rs 1,694.

SBI, DLF and NTPC are up over 2.5% each at Rs 2,325, Rs 987 and Rs 235, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Communications, Tata Motors, Grasim and Hindustan Unilever are the other major gainers.

Out of 2,898 stocks traded so far, 2,011 have advanced, 843 have declined and 44 are unchanged.
