Sensex up 58pts; DLF, HDFC surge 3%

The Sensex is now up 58 points at 19,854.

Bharti Airtel has zoomed 4.4% to Rs 981. HDFC and DLF have soared over 3% each to Rs 2,906 and Rs 1,002, respectively.

Infosys has surged nearly 3% to Rs 1,682. Reliance Communications has gained 2% at Rs 734.

HDFC Bank has advanced 1.8% to Rs 1,716. Ranbaxy, TCS and ICICI Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 403, Rs 1,046 and Rs 1,213, respectively.

ITC has dropped nearly 2% to Rs 189. NTPC, Tata Steel and Reliance have shed 1.5% each at Rs 241, Rs 834 and Rs 2,831, respectively.

ACC, BHEL and Ambuja Cements have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 1,068, Rs 2,747 and Rs 152, respectively.

Out of 2,833 stocks traded so far, 1,537 have advanced, 1,255 have declined and 41 are unchanged.
