Sensex up 58pts; HDFC advances 2%

The Sensex is now up 58 points at 13,930.

ICICI Bank has surged 2.6% to Rs 914. HDFC has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 1,610.

Reliance and Grasim have gained 1.3% each at Rs 1,298 and Rs 2,832, respectively. ONGC has moved up over 1% to Rs 885.

Reliance Communications has slipped 2.4% to Rs 454. Maruti has shed 2% to Rs 949.

Hindalco and ITC have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 182 and Rs 166, respectively.

Out of 2,599 stocks traded so far, 1,810 have advanced, 739 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
