Sensex up 59pts; Satyam soars 4%

The Sensex is now up 59 points at 15,791.

Reliance Energy has zoomed 6.6% to Rs 762. Satyam has soared over 4% to Rs 512.

BHEL has surged 3.8% to Rs 1,832, and NTPC has gained 3.4% at Rs 163.

HDFC Bank and Larsen & Toubro have rallied 2% each to Rs 1,245 and Rs 2,671, respectively.

Hindalco and Infosys are up over 1% each at Rs 187 and Rs 1,969, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors have plunged 3% each to Rs 800 and Rs 748, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever has shed 2.4% to Rs 199. TCS, ACC and Cipla have dropped around 1.5% each to Rs 1,173, Rs 1,123 and Rs 189, respectively.

Ranbaxy and Maruti are the other major losers.

Out of 2,713 stocks traded so far, 1,735 have declined, 913 have advanced and 65 are unchanged.
