Sensex up 60pts; Pfizer zooms over 10%

The Sensex rallied to a new all-time intra-day high of 11,158, and is now up 60 points at 11,146.

ITC has rallied 1.6% to Rs 196.

Infosys has advanced 1.5% to Rs 3,002, and Wipro has surged 1.4% to Rs 536.

Hero Honda has spurted 1.3% to Rs 894, and Maruti is up 1% at Rs 861.

HDFC has dropped 1% to Rs 1,325.

The market breadth is positive. Out of 1,623 stocks traded so far, 1,186 have advanced, 403 have declined and 34 are unchanged.

IVRCL Infrastrcuture is today trading at its ex-stock split price. The company had approved a 1:5 stock split, ie each share of Rs 10 was sub-divided into five equity shares of Rs 2 each. The stock, which, closed yesterday at Rs 1,489, opened at Rs 305, and is now trading at Rs 290.

Pfizer has zoomed over 10% to Rs 1,132 on the back of strong Q1 numbers. Rajshree Sugar, Godfrey Phillips, Sakthi Sugar, Esab India, Financial Technologies and Federal Bank are the other major gainers.

Mysore Cement has plunged 4% to Rs 43.50. Gujarat Gas, Rane Brakes, 3M India, Sesa Goa, SAIL, Gujarat Narmada and Rolta are the other major losers.
