Sensex up 61pts; Bharti Airtel slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 61 points at 16,278.

The NSE Nifty is up 23 points at 4,901.

Tata Steel has surged nearly 4% to Rs 658. HDFC and ONGC have rallied 2.5% each to Rs 2,654 and Rs 1,101, respectively.

SBI and Hindalco have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 1,772 and Rs 166, respectively. NTPC has added 1.6% to Rs 203.

Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Energy and Cipla are up over 1% each at Rs 3,092, Rs 1,313 and Rs 212, respectively.

Bharti Airtel has dropped 2% to Rs 818. Infosys has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,471, and ICICI Bank has declined over 1% to Rs 869.
