Sensex up 625pts; JP Associates zooms 9%

The Sensex is now up 625 points at 15,914.

The NSE Nifty is up 183 points at 4,793.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has zoomed 9% to Rs 218, and Reliance Energy has soared 8% to Rs 1,242. ICICI Bank has rallied 6% to Rs 853.

DLF has surged 5.8% to Rs 633, and Tata Steel has gained 5.5% at Rs 625.

BHEL and Reliance Communications have advanced over 5% each to Rs 1,968 and Rs 535, respectively.

TCS and Infosys have rallied nearly 5% each to Rs 863 and Rs 1,425, respectively. Satyam and Bharti Airtel have added 4.5% each to Rs 409 and Rs 837, respectively.

Hindalco and SBI are up over 4% each at Rs 160 and Rs 1,712, respectively.
