Sensex up 62pts; Bajaj, HLL gain 2%

The Sensex is now up 62 points at 11,594.

SBI has advanced 3.3% to Rs 903. Hindalco and Tata Steel have surged 2.5% each at Rs 172 and Rs 531, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has rallied over 2% to Rs 2,759. HLL has moved up 1.7% to Rs 236.

Satyam and Grasim are up 1% each at Rs 817 and Rs 2,221, respectively.

Tata Motors and HDFC Bank have slipped 1% each to Rs 852 and Rs 846, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Reliance Energy are the other prominent losers.

Out of 2,503 stocks traded so far, 1,505 have advanced, 921 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
