Sensex up 63pts; Cipla, Ranbaxy surge

The Sensex is now up 63 points at 11,762.

Cipla has gained 2.4% at Rs 256, and Ranbaxy has added 2% to Rs 415.

ICICI Bank has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 607. Bajaj Auto has moved up 1.7% to Rs 2,744.

Reliance Energy, Tata Steel, Maruti, HLL and HDFC Bank are up over 1% each to Rs 445, Rs 502, Rs 871, Rs 237 and 861, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja, Tata Motors, HDFC and ACC are the other prominent gainers.

Hero Honda has slipped 1% to Rs 713.

Out of 2,373 stocks traded so far, 1,223 have advanced, 1,061 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
