Sensex up 63pts; HDFC slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 63 points at 12,769.

Reliance Energy has surged 3% to Rs 491. ICICI Bank and Hero Honda have rallied around 2.5% each to Rs 844 and Rs 650, respectively.

ITC has soared 2% to Rs 144, and HLL has gained 1.7% at Rs 187.

HDFC has slipped over 2% to Rs 1,532. Dr.Reddy's and Ranbaxy are down nearly 1% each to Rs 673 and Rs 333, respectively.

Out of 2,376 stocks traded so far, 1,249 have declined, 1,043 have advanced and 84 are unchanged.
