Sensex up 63pts; REL, L&T surge 4%

The Sensex is now up 63 points at 11,968.

Reliance Energy has zoomed over 4% to Rs 484. Larsen & Toubro has surged 3.7% to Rs 2,557.

Bharti Airtel has gained 1.8% at Rs 425. Reliance and Hindalco are up around 1.5% each at Rs 1,143 and Rs 182, respectively.

Dr.Reddy's, Tata Steel, ITC and Wipro are the other major gainers.

ONGC has slipped 1.2% to Rs 1,213. HLL is down 1% at Rs 240.

Out of 2,554 stocks traded so far, 1,438 have advanced, 1,020 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
