Sensex up 646pts; DLF surges 7%

The Sensex is now up 646 points at 18,889.

The NSE Nifty is up 222 points at 5,540.

Reliance Communications and Wipro have zoomed 8% each to Rs 661 and Rs 472, respectively.

DLF has soared 7% to Rs 871. ONGC and NTPC have surged 5.5% each to Rs 1,103 and Rs 217, respectively.

TCS and SBI have rallied around 5% each to Rs 977 and Rs 2,293, respectively. Ambuja Cements and Satyam have gained around 4.5% each at Rs 124 and Rs 439, respectively.

Grasim, Ranbaxy and Tata Steel have advanced over 4% each to Rs 3,132, Rs 375 and Rs 808, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, Cipla and BHEL have moved up 3.7% each to Rs 216, Rs 1,650, Rs 203 and Rs 2,140, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel and Reliance are up around 3% each at Rs 1,236, Rs 936 and Rs 2,616, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,762 stocks traded so far, 2,293 have advanced, 425 have declined and 44 are unchanged.
