Sensex up 64pts; REL, BHEL, NTPC lead

The Sensex is now up 64 points at 15,796.

Reliance Energy and BHEL have soared over 4.5% each to Rs 748 and Rs 1,844, respectively. NTPC has zoomed over 4% to Rs 164.

Satyam has surged 3.5% to Rs 509. Hindalco, Dr.Reddy's and Larsen & Toubro have moved up around 1.6% each to Rs 188, Rs 678 and Rs 2,656, respectively.

HDFC Bank has advanced 1% to Rs 1,233.

Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors have dropped around 2.5% each to Rs 803 and Rs 753, respectively.

Hindustan Unilever has shed 2% to Rs 200. ACC and Ranbaxy have slipped nearly 1.5% each to Rs 1,123 and Rs 346, respectively.

Cipla, Tata Steel, Maruti and Reliance Communications are down 1% each at Rs 189, Rs 713, Rs 825 and Rs 578, respectively.

Out of 2,680 stocks traded so far, 1,730 have declined, 887 have advanced and 63 are unchanged.
