Sensex up 64pts; TCS surges 4%

The Sensex is now up 64 points at 15,858.

The NSE Nifty is up 32 points at 4,779.

Reliance Energy has soared nearly 6% to Rs 1,246. TCS has surged 4% to Rs 911.

Reliance and Satyam have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 2,458 and Rs 435, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Ambuja Cements have gained 1.5% each at Rs 2,677 and Rs 122, respectively.

Hindalco and Mahindra & Mahindra have moved up 1.3% each to Rs 175 and Rs 616, respectively.

Jaiprakash Assocaites and Bharti Airtel have slipped over 2% each to Rs 215 and Rs 802, respectively.

HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Ranbaxy have also declined around 2% each to Rs 1,350, Rs 819 and Rs 461, respectively.

Out of 2,614 stocks traded so far, 1,825 have advanced, 708 have declined and 81 are unchanged.
