Sensex up 657pts; REL, ONGC zoom 9%

The Sensex is now up 657 points at 17,879.

All index stocks are in positive zone with gains in excess of 1% each.

Reliance Energy (REL) and ONGC have zoomed around 9% each to Rs 1,986 and Rs 1,028, respectively. ICICI Bank has soared over 6% to Rs 1,204.

NTPC, Bajaj Auto and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied around 5.5% each to Rs 215, Rs 2,225 and Rs 659, respectively.

Tata Motors, BHEL and Grasim have surged around 5% each to Rs 695, Rs 2,200 and Rs 3,039, respectively.

Hindalco, Reliance and Ranbaxy have advanced nearly 4% each to Rs 158, Rs 2,586 and Rs 360, respectively.

SBI, Hindustan Unilever, DLF and Infosys have also moved up nearly 4% each to Rs 2,435, Rs 195, Rs 925 and Rs 1,472, respectively.
