Sensex up 67pts at 11,963

 Uabated buying in metal and select index heavyweights helped the Sensex zoom to a new all-time intra-day high of 11,988 - just 12 points short of yet another physchological mark of 12,000. The index is now up 82 points at 11,978.

The BSE Metal index has zoomed over 4% to 10,422.

Hindalco has soared 6.3% to Rs 217. Tata Steel has rallied 4.8% to Rs 638.

Tata Motors has zoomed 3.4% to Rs 955. Bajaj Auto has gained 2% at Rs 3,006, and Maruti is up 1.6% at Rs 888.

Reliance has advanced 3% to Rs 948. ONGC has spurted over 1% to Rs 1,343.

Grasim has moved up 2.7% to Rs 2,372.

HDFC has dropped 2.4% to Rs 1,270. NTPC has plunged 1.6% to Rs 140, and TCS has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,987.

Ranbaxy and Bharti Tele are down 1% each at Rs 476 and Rs 409, respectively.

The market breadth continues to remain positive. Out of 2,425 stocks traded so far, 1,430 have advanced, 923 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
