Sensex up 67pts; TCS, ONGC advance 3%

The Sensex is now up 67 points at 14,877.

The NSE Nifty is up 29 points at 4,533.

TCS has soared 3.5% to Rs 820. ONGC and Reliance Communications have surged over 3% each to Rs 1,016 and Rs 497, respectively.

BHEL has rallied 2.7% to Rs 1,845. Bharti Airtel, Satyam, NTPC and Reliance Energy have gained around 2.5% each at Rs 761, Rs 375, Rs 192 and Rs 1,220, respectively.

Cipla and Ranbaxy are up around 2% each at Rs 205 and Rs 446, respectively.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has plunged over 4% to Rs 199. HDFC Bank has tumbled over 3% to Rs 1,200.

Tata Steel has shed 2.5% at Rs 643. SBI and Hindalco have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 1,608 and Rs 163, respectively.

Out of 2,552 stocks traded so far, 1,942 have declined, 554 have advanced and 56 are unchanged.
