Sensex up 68pts after initial volatility

The Sensex opened marginally (16 points) higher at 13,011. The index surged to a high of 13,090, and then tumbled to a low of 12,830.

The index has now rebounded into the positive zone and is now up 68 points at 13,063.

SBI has advanced 2.7% to Rs 1,212. Reliance Communications and Gujarat Ambuja have dropped around 2% each to Rs 412 and Rs 133, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Satyam are the other major losers.

ONGC, Cipla and Grasim have dropped around 2% each to Rs 789, Rs 236 and Rs 2,460, respectively.

NTPC, Bharti Airtel, HLL, Wipro, Ranbaxy and HDFC Bank are down over 1% each.
