Sensex up 697pts; Reliance surges 6%

The Sensex is now up 697 points at 19,732.

HDFC Bank has zoomed over 11% to Rs 1,755. HDFC has soared 7% to Rs 2,768.

ICICI Bank and Reliance have surged nearly 6% each to Rs 1,246 and Rs 2,853, respectively.

ONGC and Infosys have rallied 4.3% each to Rs 1,235 and Rs 1,696, respectively. Maruti has advanced nearly 4% to Rs 1,042.

Wipro has gained 3.5% at Rs 457. BHEL, Tata Steel and Larsen & Toubro are up over 3% each at Rs 2,870, Rs 860 and Rs 4,503, respectively.

Out of 2,816 stocks traded so far, 2,062 have advanced, 671 have declined and 83 are unchanged.
