Sensex up 6pts; HDFC, ITC slip

The Sensex is now up six points 12,395.

Hindalco has spurted 2% to Rs 176. BHEL has gained 1.5% at Rs 2,346.

Gujarat Ambuja and Tata Steel are up 1% each at Rs 122 and Rs 543, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, HDFC Bank, Reliance Communications, NTPC and ACC are the other prominent gainers.

HDFC and ITC have slipped nearly 1% each to Rs 1,440 and Rs 186, respectively.

Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Grasim and Wipro are the other notable losers.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,041 stocks traded so far, 1,373 have advanced, 606 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
