Sensex up 6pts; NTPC, Cipla firm

The Sensex is now up six points at 15,471.

NTPC has surged 2.7% to Rs 186. Cipla has gained 2% at Rs 183.

Hindustan Unilever has moved up 1.5% to Rs 214.

Grasim, ICICI Bank, Satyam, Tata Steel are up 1% each at Rs 3,052, Rs 915, Rs 453 and Rs 691,  respectively.

Bajaj Auto and Hero Honda are the other prominent gainers.

Maruti has dropped 2% to Rs 876.

Bharti Airtel, Hindalco, HDFC Bank and Ranbaxy are down 1% each at Rs 850, Rs 156, Rs 1,163 and Rs 402, respectively.
