Sensex up 70pts; Bajaj Auto, Bharti weak

The Sensex is now up 70 points at 20,262.

Tata Steel and Reliance Energy have surged nearly 2% each to Rs 910 and Rs 2,151, respectively.

ITC has gained 1.7% at Rs 203, and HDFC Bank has rallied 1.5% to Rs 1,730.

Hindalco, Hindustan Unilever and Wipro have advanced 1.3% each to Rs 212, Rs 218 and Rs 543, respectively.

ICICI Bank, ONGC and Maruti are up around 1% each at Rs 1,234, Rs 1,249 and Rs 1,003, respectively.

Bajaj Auto has plunged 2.5% to Rs 2,616. Bharti Airtel has shed 2% at Rs 962.

Reliance Communications has dropped 1.6% to Rs 731, and Tata Motors has slipped 1% to Rs 745.

Out of 2,938 stocks traded so far, 2,099 have advanced, 805 have declined and 34 are unchanged.
