Sensex up 70pts; Hindalco zooms 5%

After witnessing a near 700-points swing (High 11,697; Low 11,004) in early trades the index has some what become stable at current levels.

The index is now up 70 points at 11,461.

Hindalco has soared over 5% to Rs 202. Reliance has surged 2.7% to Rs 1,032.

Gujarat Ambuja has rallied over 3% to Rs 102. ACC has moved up 2.3% to Rs 817, and Grasim has spurted 1.5% to Rs 2,015.

Bharti Tele has moved up 2.6% to Rs 410. Tata Motors and Maruti have zoomed 2.5% each to Rs 894 and Rs 840, respectively.

Reliance has added 2.3% to Rs 548, and SBI has advanced 2% to Rs 926.

Cipla has slipped over 3% to Rs 237. Dr.Reddy's has dropped 1.7% to Rs 1,528.

BHEL has shed over 2% to Rs 2,066. Hero Honda, Satyam and Tata Steel have declined 1.3% each to Rs 862, Rs 707 and Rs 539, respectively.

The markets breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,285 stocks traded so far, 1,347 have declined, 883 have advanced and 55 are unchanged.
