Sensex up 70pts; market breadth very positive

The Sensex is now up 70 points at 12,436.

Dr.Reddy's has surged 2.3% to Rs 723. Maruti has rallied nearly 2% to Rs 958.

NTPC and Infosys have gained nearly 1.5% each at Rs 131 and Rs 1,924, respectively. HDFC and Bharti Airtel have advanced 1.3% each to Rs 1,410 and Rs 470, respectively.

ACC, Tata Motors and HDFC Bank are up over 1% each at Rs 992, Rs 912 and Rs 941, respectively.

HLL is the only notable loser among the index stocks.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,213 stocks traded so far, 1,655 have advanced, 508 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
