Sensex up 71pts; HDFC advances 3%

The Sensex is now up 71 points at 13,230.

Bajaj Auto and Hero Honda have rallied around 4% each to Rs 2,594 and Rs 695, respectively.

HDFC and Hindalco have surged over 3% each to Rs 1,555 and Rs 141, respectively.

HLL, Tata Steel and Grasim have moved up nearly 2% each to Rs 179, Rs 460 and Rs 2,192, respectively.

Ranbaxy, ONGC and Bharti Aritel are up over 1% each to Rs 348, Rs 808 and Rs 735, respectively.

HDFC Bank has shed 2.5% to Rs 956, and ITC has slipped over 2% to Rs 169. Larsen & Toubro has dropped 1.8% to Rs 1,513.

Out of 2,302 stocks traded so far, 1,490 have advanced, 752 have declined and 60 are unchanged.
