The Sensex opened 58 points higher at 9,359. The index is now up 71 points at 9,372.
Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and Hindalco have surged around 3% each to Rs 192, Rs 419 and Rs 45, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates and HDFC have moved up around 2.5% each to Rs 71 and Rs 1,447, respectively.
Sterlite and DLF have gained 2.3% each at Rs 271 and Rs 141, respectively.
Reliance Infrastructure has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 551. Reliance Communications, Reliance and Tata Motors are up around 1.5% each.
