Sensex up 72pts; Infosys up 5%

The Sensex is now up 72 points 12,436.

Infosys has surged 4.7% to Rs 1,995. TCS has rallied 3.5% to Rs 1,047. Satyam has gained 2.6% at Rs 418, and Wipro has added 2% to Rs 531.

HDFC and HDFC Bank have moved up nearly 1.5% each to Rs 1,439 and Rs 953, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja has dropped 2.6% to Rs 120. Tata Motors has shed 1.5% to Rs 899.

Hindalco, Hero Honda, Bajaj Auto and BHEL have slipped over 1% each to Rs 173, Rs 742, Rs 3,037 and Rs 2,313, respectively.

Out of 2,427 stocks traded so far, 1,364 have declined, 991 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
