The Sensex is now up 72 points at 14,473.
HDFC has soared 4% to Rs 2,372. DLF has surged 2.7% to Rs 497.
Tata Motors, Satyam and ICICI Bank have rallied over 2% each to Rs 435, Rs 395 and Rs 658, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra, Grasim and Reliance Communications have advanced nearly 2% each to Rs 560, Rs 1,964 and Rs 413, respectively.
HDFC Bank, Reliance Infrastructure, ITC, Bharti Airtel and SBI are up over 1% each.
Tata Power has shed 2.5% at Rs 1,025. Jaiprakash Associates and Ranbaxy have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 161 and Rs 514, respectively.
Out of 2,682 stocks traded so far, 1,466 have advanced, 1,124 have declind and the rest are unchanged.
