Sensex up 72pts; REL gains 3%

The Sensex is now up 72 points at 11,977.

Reliance Energy (REL) has moved up 2.7% to Rs 477.

ITC, Dr.Reddy's and Hindalco have advanced nearly 2% each to Rs 191, Rs 743 and Rs 182, respectively.

Tata Steel has gained 1.5% at Rs 521, and Larsen & Toubro has added 1.2% to Rs 2,497.

Maruti, NTPC, Reliance Communications and Tata Motors are up 1% each at Rs 902, Rs 127, Rs 308 and Rs 895, respectively.

ONGC has slipped over 1% to Rs 1,214.

Out of 2,164 stocks traded so far, 1,466 have advanced, 617 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
