Sensex up 73pts; BHEL soars 4%

The Sensex is now up 73 points at 15,638.

BHEL has soared nearly 4% to Rs 1,712. Hindustan Unilever and Larsen & Toubro have surged around 3.5% each to Rs 201 and Rs 2,563, respectively.

Reliance Energy has moved up over 3% to Rs 710. Bajaj Auto has rallied 2.7% to Rs 2,390.

Satyam, ONGC and NTPC have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 485, Rs 900 and Rs 157, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Hindalco and Reliance are the other prominent gainers.

Cipla has plunged 4% to Rs 193. Infosys has slipped 2.4% to Rs 1,940.

Ambuja Cements has shed 1.5% to Rs 134. ICICI Bank is down over 1% to Rs 974.

Out of 2,530 stocks traded so far, 1,351 have advanced, 1,107 have declined and 72 are unchanged.
