Sensex up 73pts; Gujarat Ambuja slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 73 points at 14,291.

Satyam has surged 2.5% to Rs 468. Infosys and Larsen & Toubro have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 1,970 and Rs 1,730, respectively.

Reliance Communications has rallied 1.6% to Rs 502. Wipro and HDFC have advanced over 1% each to Rs 538 and Rs 1,772. respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja has shed 1.7% to Rs 113. HDFC Bank and Tata Steel have slipped around 1.5% each to Rs 1,073 and Rs 623, respectively.

Out of 2,595 stocks traded so far, 1,391 have advanced, 1,118 have declined and 86 are unchanged.
