Sensex up 74 pts, Reliance extends gains

The market has steadied a bit in mid-noon trades. Although Reliance  has moved up further, tech, banking and other select old economy counters have trimmed gains due to profit-taking.

While the Sensex is higher at 7,150 (up 74 pts), the Nifty is up 21 points at 2,191.

Reliance has moved up 1.10% (Rs 7) to Rs 653, while ONGC is up 1.73% (Rs 16) at Rs 961. ITC has gained 1.67% (Rs 26) to Rs 1,572.

HDFC Bank is still moving in a narrow range at Rs 598 - down Rs 3. ICICI Bank has slipped into the red with a rupee loss at Rs 417. SBI is up with steady gains at Rs 669 - up Rs 3.

TCS has gained 1.70% (Rs 22) to Rs 1,326. While Infosys is flat at Rs 2,394, Satyam is trading off-highs at Rs 512 - up Rs 5. Wipro is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 761.

L&T has flared up 3.48% (Rs 38) to Rs 1,139. While HDFC is trading firm with a surge of 2.93% (Rs 25) at Rs 868, Tisco has added 2.51% (Rs 9) to Rs 366. Tata Power is up 1.24% (Rs 5) at Rs 379. Hindalco, however, has lost a per cent (Rs 12) to Rs 1,180.

Hero Honda has shed some gains to Rs 555 - up Rs 5. Bajaj (up Rs 23 or 1.83% to Rs 1,271), Tata Motors (up Rs 9 or 2.25% to Rs 428) and Maruti (up Rs 10 or 2.25% to Rs 464) are holding on to their gains.
