Sensex up 746pts; DLF, ITC, NTPC surge

The Sensex is now up 746 points at 17,476.

The NSE Nifty has gained 205 points at 5,105.

Reliance Communications has zoomed nearly 8% to Rs 620.

DLF, Hindalco and BHEL have soared over 7% each to Rs 930, Rs 161 and Rs 2,125, respectively.

ITC and NTPC have surged 6.7% each to Rs 196 and Rs 210, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra have rallied 6% each to Rs 1,192 and Rs 648, respectively. Satyam has gained 5.7% at Rs 375.

HDFC, Reliance Energy and Bajaj Auto have advanced around 5.5% each to Rs 2,618, Rs 1,808 and Rs 2,172, respectively.

SBI, Tata Motors and Grasim are up around 5% each at Rs 2,270, Rs 692 and Rs 3,001, respectively.

Wipro is down 1.4% at Rs 423.
