Sensex up 75pts; Century Tex tops turnover chart

The Sensex is now up 75 points at 12,294.

Gujarat Ambuja has soared over 4% to Rs 127.

Satyam has surged 3% to Rs 776, and Bharti Tele has gained 2.7% at Rs 420.

ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have advanced nearly 3% each to Rs 640 and Rs 873, respectively.

Maruti has rallied 2% to Rs 961, and Hero Honda has gained 1.7% at Rs 845.

Hindalco has slipped 2.2% to Rs 230. HDFC and Dr.Reddy's are down 1.7% each at Rs 1,284 and Rs 1,654, respectively.

Out of 2,558 stocks traded so far, 1,452 have advanced, 1,036 have declined and 70 are unchanged.

Century Textiles tops the value chart with a turnover of Rs 151.36 crore followed by Reliance Communication Ventures (Rs 151.05 crore), Reliance Capital (Rs 107.19 crore), ACC (Rs 83.82 crore) and Tata Steel (Rs 75.91 crore).

Himachal Futuristic leads the value chart with trades of around 1.61 crore shares followed by Reliance Natural Resources (83.13 lakh), G V Films (69.40 lakh), RCF (63 lakh) and Reliance Communication Ventures (46.76 lakh).
