Sensex up 75pts; NTPC slips 2%

The Sensex is now up 75 points at 14,279.

Ranbaxy has surged 2.5% to Rs 379. Maruti and Reliance Communications has rallied 2% each to Rs 744 and Rs 501, respectively.

SBI has advanced 1.8% to Rs 1,338. Reliance Energy, Tata Motors and BHEL have moved up around 1.5% each to Rs 535, Rs 652 and Rs 1,368, respectively.

NTPC has shed 1.8% to Rs 151.
