Sensex up 75pts; NTPC surges 3%

The Sensex is now up 75 points at 13,358.

NTPC has surged 3% to Rs 134. Reliance Communications has rallied 2.5% to Rs 401.

Gujarat Ambuja and HDFC have advanced over 2% each to Rs 138 and Rs 1,528, respectively.

Reliance Energy has gained 1.7% to Rs 530, and Bharti Airtel has moved up 1.5% to Rs 552.

Tata Motors, ICICI Bank and Maruti are up over 1% each at Rs 828, Rs 841 and Rs 917, respectively.

ONGC has dropped 1.4% to Rs 867. Hero Honda and Hindalco are down over 1% each to Rs 717 and Rs 182, respectively.

Out of 2,476 stocks traded so far, 1,548 have advanced, 856 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
