Sensex up 76pts; Cipla, BHEL firm

The Sensex is now up 76 points at 14,620.

Cipla has surged 2.3% to Rs 223, and BHEL has rallied 2% to Rs 1,427.

Satyam has advanced 1.8% to Rs 478. ICICI Bank and Tata Steel have gained around 1.5% each at Rs 932 and Rs 641, respectively.

SBI, HDFC Bank, Infosys, HDFC and TCS are up over 1% each at Rs 1,369, Rs 1,153, Rs 1,942, Rs 1,892 and Rs 1,222, respectively.

ITC has dropped 1.5% to Rs 161, and Hero Honda has slipped over 1% to Rs 724.

Out of 2,544 stocks traded so far, 1,526 have advanced, 923 have declined and 95 are unchanged.
