Sensex up 77pts; HDFC gains 2%

The Sensex is now up 77 points at 15,665.

The NSE Nifty is up 14 points at 4,724.

Larsen & Toubro, HDFC and Tata Steel have surged 2% each to Rs 2,634, Rs 2,356 and Rs 669, respectively.

Reliance Energy and BHEL have moved up 1.7% each to Rs 1,170 and Rs 1,740, respectively.

DLF has advanced 1.5% to Rs 625. Infosys and Hindalco are up over 1% each at Rs 1,480 and Rs 172, respectively.

Maruti has shed 1.5% at Rs 733. Grasim and Satyam are down over 1% each at Rs 2,530 and Rs 424, respectively.
