The NSE Nifty is up eight points at 5,236.
Reliance Energy and Larsen & Toubro have surged 2.7% each to Rs 1,566 and Rs 3,225, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates has rallied over 2% to Rs 293. Tata Steel and ICICI Bank have moved up 1.3% each to Rs 808 and Rs 947, respectively.
Grasim, BHEL and ACC are up 1% each at Rs 2,394, Rs 1,929 and Rs 761, respectively.
Hindalco has slipped over 2% to Rs 182. Wipro and Mahindra & Mahindra have shed 1.5% each at Rs 495 and Rs 680, respectively.
SBI and Tata Motors are down 1.3% each at Rs 1,799 and Rs 682, respectively.
Out of 2,606 stocks traded, 2,099 have advanced, 474 have declined and 33 are unchanged.
