Sensex up 79pts; HDFC, HDFC Bank shine

The Sensex is now up 79 points 12,443.

Infosys has surged 4.7% to Rs 1,996. TCS has rallied 3.7% to Rs 1,049. Satyam has gained 2.7% at Rs 418, and Wipro has added 2.4% to Rs 532.

HDFC and HDFC Bank have advanced 2% each to Rs 1,442 and Rs 957, respectively.

Gujarat Ambuja has shed 2.6% to Rs 120. Tata Motors has dropped 1.7% to Rs 897, and Hindalco has slipped 1.4% to Rs 173.

Hero Honda, HLL, Bajaj Auto and Larsen & Toubro are down around 1% each at Rs 741, Rs 236, Rs 3,039 and Rs 1,269, respectively.

Out of 2,484 stocks traded so far, 1,365 have declined, 1,044 have advanced and 75 are unchanged.
