Sensex up 79pts; Reliance rallies 3%

The Sensex is now up 79 points at 11,228.

Reliance has rallied 3% to Rs 1,009. Hero Honda has gained 2.7% at Rs 692.

NTPC and Infosys have advanced over 2% each to Rs 124 and Rs 1,745, respectively.

Grasim and Tata Steel have added 1.5% each to Rs 2,185 and Rs 523, respectively.

ACC, Cipla, Ranbaxy and Tata Motors are up over 1% each.

ICICI Bank has declined nearly 2% to Rs 589. Wipro is down 1.5% at Rs 508.

Out of 2,465 stocks traded so far, 1,666 have advanced, 726 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
