Sensex up 79pts; SBI, RCom gain

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 74 points at 14,278, backed by positive cues from the global markets.

The index is now up 79 points at 14,283.

SBI, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Communications, BHEL, Wipro and Tata Motors have rallied around 1% each to Rs 1,329, Rs 1,944, Rs 496, Rs 1,363, Rs 537 and Rs 649, respectively.

HLL, ONGC, Reliance Energy and ITC are the other prominent gainers.
