Sensex up 7pts; HDFC Bank gains 3%

The Sensex moved in a narrow range of 45 points (high of 8061 and low of 8016) before closing with a marginal gain of seven points at 8060.

HDFC Bank moved up over 3% (Rs 21) to Rs 677. SBI added over 2% (Rs 18) to Rs 855.

While ITC was up Rs 9 at Rs 1,832. Reliance gained Rs 3 to Rs 741.

Maruti advanced nearly 2% (Rs 10) to Rs 512. Bajaj and Tata Motors also finished with gains.

Ranbaxy declined 2.7% (Rs 14) to Rs 526.

TCS dropped Rs 12 to Rs 1,392. Infosys, Satyam and Wipro also declined.
