Sensex up 80pts; breadth marginally +ve

The Sensex is now up 80 points at 16,644.

Reliance Energy has soared over 3% to Rs 1,041. ICICI Bank has surged 2% to Rs 984.

Maruti has rallied 1.8% to Rs 946. HDFC Bank, Reliance and Bharti Airtel have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 1,344, Rs 2,310 and Rs 932, respectively.

NTPC is up 1% at Rs 190.

Infosys has dropped nearly 2% to Rs 1,788. ITC has slipped 1.6% to Rs 188.

Grasim and Ambuja Cements has shed 1.3% each to Rs 3,401 and Rs 145, respectively.

Wipro and TCS are the other prominent losers.

The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,202 stocks traded so far, 1,166 have advanced, 980 have declined and 56 are unchanged.
