Sensex up 822pts; JP Associates zooms 14%

The Sensex is now up 822 points at 16,111.

Jaiprakash (JP) Associates has zoomed over 14% to Rs 229. DLF has soared 11.5% to Rs 667, and Reliance Energy has surged 11% to Rs 1,279.

Infosys and ICICI Bank have rallied 9% each to Rs 1,484 and Rs 877, respectively. Wipro has gained 8.5% at Rs 432.

HDFC has soared 8% to Rs 2,575. Tata Steel has gained 6.5% at Rs 631, and TCS has added 6% to Rs 874.

SBI, BHEL, Satyam and Hindalco have moved up 5.3% each to Rs 1,734, Rs 1,971, Rs 412 and Rs 162, respectively.

ONGC and Reliance Communications have advanced over 5% each to Rs 1,053 and Rs 535, respectively.

Out of 2,731 stocks traded so far, 1,979 have advanced, 701 have declined and 51 are unchanged.
