Sensex up 82pts; Kamdhenu Ispat zooms 20%

The Sensex is now up 82 points at 12,596.

ICICI Bank has zoomed 2.6% to Rs 656. SBI has added 2% to Rs 995, and HDFC Bank is up 1.7% at Rs 869.

Bajaj Auto has rallied 1.7% to Rs 3,221. ONGC has surged 1.6% to Rs 1,463.

Hindalco has moved up 1.6% to Rs 233, and Tata Steel is up 1% at Rs 666.

Dr.Reddy's and Ranbaxy are up over 1% each at Rs 1,664 and Rs 513, respectively.

HDFC has slipped 1% to Rs 1,342.

Out of 2,192 stocks traded so far, 1,634 have advanced, 516 have declined and the rest are unchanged.

Newly listed Kamdhenu Ispat has hit the 20% upper limit at Rs 55. J K Lakshmi, J K Synthetic, Bombay Burmah, Tantia Construction, Mascon Global, Malwa Cotton, Punjab Alkalies GMR Industries, Lanxess, IDBI, MRPL, Dabur, FDC and Hinduja TMT are the other major gainers.

Flex Engineering has slumped 6% to Rs 39.20. Advik Labs, Saint Gobian, Surana Tele, Ramco Systems, Himachal Futuristic, Foseco India, Jindal South, Sree Sakthi, Century Enka and CMC are the other prominent losers.
