Sensex up 83pts; auto stocks rally

The Sensex is now up 83 points at 12,464.

Maruti has rallied 3% to Rs 972. Tata Motors has surged 2.5% to Rs 863, and Bajaj Auto has gained over 2% at Rs 2,988.

Tata Steel, NTPC and Reliance Communications have advanced around 2% each to Rs 529, Rs 130 and Rs 346, respectively.

Grasim, Gujarat Ambuja and Ranbaxy are up around 1.5% each at Rs 2,515, Rs 117 and Rs 437, respectively.

Out of 2,458 stocks traded so far, 1,633 have advanced, 759 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
